The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of our restaurant and bar outlets, while also overseeing the successful execution of special events and programming.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on delivering exceptional guest experiences, building strong teams, and ensuring smooth, profitable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of daily F&B operations, including active presence on the service floor and direct involvement in private event execution.
- Manage and support outlet and banquet staff—recruiting, scheduling, training, evaluating, and maintaining high performance standards.
- Monitor inventory, control costs, and analyze P&L reports to identify and implement improvements.
- Partner with sales and marketing to develop promotions, packages, and creative programming that drive in-house guest engagement and capture a greater share of the local market.
- Ensure service excellence in line with brand standards, stepping in to perform any operational role as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, sanitation, and operational guidelines.
Requirements
- 3+ years of restaurant/bar management experience, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of banquet and catering operations.
- Proven skills in inventory control, purchasing, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of a 24/7 hotel operation.
